National Student Space Conference 2016
5 - 6 March 2016 / University of Sheffield

The UKSEDS National Student Space Conference, now in its 28th year, is the premier event for space students, bringing together students, academics, and professionals from across the country to share knowledge of space, discuss the challenges facing the sector, and to create new links between groups.

NSSC features talks by leading space science and industry figures, a careers fair, and opportunities to take part in discussions and networking events.

The event is organised by UKSEDS, the UK's national student space society, and is this year hosted by Sheffield SpaceSoc at the University of Sheffield. Click here to find out more.

British Science Week

The British Science Association have a number of grant schemes available, providing small pots of money to help organisations and schools put on events during British Science Week. 

Community grants, school grants, Scottish and Welsh grants- check out what you could be eligible for and help celebrate British Science Week!

You can even purchase consumable equipment for #DemoDay16 on Thursday 17 March! Join our annual campaign to inspire secondary school teachers to explore new concepts, provoke discussion and generate excitement through running science demonstrations.

51st 3AF International Conference on Applied Aerodynamics: 
Thermal Effects and Aerodynamics

The 3AF International Conference on Applied Aerodynamics is organized each year by the French Aeronautics and Space Society (3AF) in a different venue in France known for its activities in the field of aeronautics and/or space technology. The conference is an opportunity for scientific exchanges among the aerospace community where aerodynamicists from industry, research institutions and academics meet. Weather for Private Pilot's License holders

The meeting is focussed on improving safety for General Aviation, particularly for advanced PPL (private pilot’s licence) students and holders. General Aviation Safety Council (GASCo) Safety Evenings are designed to examine the six areas of greatest concern to General Aviation in the UK - the GA Safety Six.

Civil Avionics International Forum 2016 (CAIF 2016)

The theme of CAIF 2016 is ‘New Idea, New Concept, Foresee the Future’. Focus will be placed on the latest avionics R&D and application trends and seizing future opportunities in China aviation market. Civil Aerospace Congress 2016

This annual event, organised by Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, hosted by Galleon (Shanghai) Consulting Co., Ltd., will discuss international cooperation in relation to civil aircraft projects, the question of the establishment of supplier system, aircraft airworthiness certification systems, intelligent manufacturing pilot project, the aviation industry and information technology as well as future trends more electric aircraft and other aspects, to promote the technology among enterprises exchanges and cooperation projects. China Aerospace Propulsion Technology Summit 2016 (CAPTS 2016)
25-26 May 2016, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, China
 

According to the forecasts, in the next two decades the China civil aircraft market will need at least 6330 new aircraft, worth USD 950 billion. The scale of expansion of civil aviation will encourage the growth of aero engine related requirements. In the next 10 years, China civil aero engine sales demand is expected to reach more than RMB480 billion and the demand for corresponding maintenance and replace parts service will reach more than RMB320 billion. Over the next two decades, demand for China aero engine and gas turbine will exceed RMB2 trillion, civilian market will be RMB1.5 trillion. Engine parts, assembly and high temperature alloy materials will boom.

This annual event (CAPTS 2016) will cover the latest industry insights, bringing the maximum value to its delegates.

British Science Festival

We are pleased to announce that nominations for the annual Award Lectures and the call for proposals for the British Science Festival 2016 are now open.
The British Science Festival returns to Swansea University from 6-9 September 2016, and is a national platform to showcase cutting-edge science, celebrate latest scientific developments and engage in open discussion about issues that affect our culture and society.

Help us curate a vibrant programme of events! There are no restrictions on the call for proposals; anyone can propose an event – individuals, researchers, organisations or academic institutions from all over the UK. Events can be talks, debates or discussions for a public audience.

Do you know a promising early career researcher and scientist? Nominate them for an Award Lecture.

30th Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences

ICAS is an international, non-government, non-profit scientific organization with the mission to advance knowledge and facilitate collaboration in aeronautics. ICAS is the only international support organization to representative aeronautical engineering professional societies and their members in 30 countries. ICAS organizes every two years an International Congress covering all aspects of aeronautical science and technology and their application to both military and civil aviation.
