The Brabazon Lecture is held in honour of Lord Brabazon of Tara who became one of British aviation's true pioneers. The 2012 Lecture will be given by Mark King, President - Civil Aerospace, Rolls-Royce.
This evening lecture, presented by the RAeS Historical Group will address the production of fully capable combat aviatiors, not just 'pilots'. The lecture will also focus on pre war training, the beginnings of refinement in 1916; Smith-Barry and the all through TDS Concept during 1917; the wholesale transfer to TDS's and the proliferation of specialised tactical/rol-related schools during 1918.

Solent Branch: As the RAF’s first Remotely Piloted Air System Squadron, 39 Squadron faced significant challenges in setting up. Wg Cdr Jeffrey OBE, who was the OC of 39 Squadron, looks at those challenges and at the 39 Squadron Mission, as well as some examples of operations and achievements. He also illustrates the capabilities of the UK Reaper: demonstrating how it ‘Saves Lives and Makes a Difference’.
