Modern aircraft systems have attained outstanding levels of safety and reliability. This puts even greater emphasis on those who operate and maintain aircraft. It’s important to get the right people for the job, and that they are trained effectively. ITQI aims to improve operational safety through the development of more effective selection and training for pilots and maintenance personnel.
To promote the benefits of ITQI and to identify and guide implementation efforts, IATA has convened a two-day ITQI conference in London, in partnership with the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS). View the line up of expert speakers by clicking on the programme link.
Event designed for: Open to all, with particular emphasis on
• Airline training managers
• Regulatory authorities
• Training providers
• Aircraft manufacturers
• Creators and users of training systems
ITQI was launched in 2007 and that four-year development phase is now concluding, yielding a comprehensive and integrated suite of programmes covering the key areas:
Flight Operations
- Selection Criteria (Pilot Aptitute Testing)
- Multi-Crew Pilot Licensing (MPL)
- Evidence-based Training (EBT)
- Instructor & Evaluator Qualification (IEQ)

At the conference, attendees will have exclusive access to first-hand information collected from all of the work that ITQI has completed so far. Each session is designed to present the theory of each ITQI element, followed by the practical implementation. All sessions will include ample time for audience interaction and contribution, including structured table-top work sessions.
Online registration is now open and to take advantage of preferential hotel rates offered to IATA and RAeS Delegates, make a reservation at the Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel or an alternative nearby hotel. To view hotels close to RAeS Headquarters, visit this hotel map.
