The Aeronautic Systems Competency at the CSIR provides a range of services to the defence and commercial aerospace sectors using our experienced staff of 50 engineers, scientists and technicians. Our offering includes wind-tunnel testing, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), flutter clearance, store carriage and separation analyses, gas turbine engine technology, fuel sloshing analyses, flight simulation and non-destructive testing.
A suite of nine wind-tunnels covering the subsonic, transonic and supersonic speed ranges. The transonic wind-tunnel has a captive trajectory system (CTS).
